What is EMID?
The East Metro Integration District (EMID) is a joint powers agreement among 10 East metro school districts (Inver Grove Hts; Mahtomedi; No. Saint Paul/Maplewood/Oakdale; Roseville; Saint Paul; So Saint Paul; So Washington County; Stillwater; West Saint Paul/Mendota Hts; and White Bear Lake).  EMID brings the ten districts together to address the educational issues resulting from dramatic demographic changes and inequities among school age children.  Through EMID, suburban districts partner with St. Paul to create world class learning opportunities, so that all students are equipped to participate fully in the social, economic and democratic life of their communities.

EMID also operates two interdistrict integration schools:

Harambee Community Cultures/Environmental Science Elementary School
30 East County Road B
Maplewood, MN 55117

and

Crosswinds Arts and Science Middle School
600 Weir Drive
Woodbury, MN 55125

EMID also provides funding for the 5-District Integration Partnership Program; the Interdistrict Classroom Partnership Initiative; the Saint Paul Public Schools Multicultural Resource Center; and the Project Common Ground Program.
