What Is An Interdistrict Partnership
Interdistrict classroom partnerships are usually one-to-one urban/suburban classroom connections between Saint Paul Public School classrooms and classrooms in EMID-member suburban districts.  Classroom partnerships are approved in advance and partnering teachers meet to determine the content of the partnership in a mutually beneficial manner.

Classroom partnerships should contribute to the development of culturally inclusive learning experiences for students, staff, parents and community that build lasting relationships, create collaborative initiatives and bridge member districts with Saint Paul Public Schools.

Classroom Partnerships can cover a wide range of activities from grade and subject-specific partnerships, to pen pal partnerships, special interest partnerships (African Drum, Diversity Clubs, Community Education, Writing, Art History, SPPS Como Planetarium, environmental studies (Valley Branch and Dodge Nature Center, Exchange City, etc)

There are also unique classroom partnership offerings that focus on staff development such as Responsive Classroom, CMP Math, Science Foss Kits, Artifact Trunk Training, etc.

In addition, some partnerships recruit students from across multiple EMID districts to take part in programs during the school year and over the summer like the Concordia Dual Language Learning Academy and Emerging Learner Camp, Native American Camp, SPPS/EMID St. Thomas Cultural, Academic and Athletic Program, and Future Educators of America.

Classroom partnerships involve classrooms across the K-12 spectrum.  They also involve alternative educational programs within school districts and students across all ethnic, economic learning and physical ability groups.
